Some stories begin long before the people who live them are born.

Raya. A girl with a restless heart and a prophecy running through her veins that will lead her far beyond the familiar fields of her Bulgarian village.

Amin. A musician caught between the expectations of his family and the unfolding war in Syria, where the life imagined for him becomes increasingly difficult to reconcile with the one he longs to live.

Rami. A photographer in pursuit of ecstatic personal freedom, determined to live on his own terms in a world that seems intent on deciding otherwise.

Three lives, born into different worlds, drawn together on the other side of the earth.

From the jasmine-scented courtyards of Syria and the sunflower fields of Bulgaria to the tropical shores of Malaysia, NUBÚA is a story of love and exile, of fate and free will, and of the invisible threads that bind us to one another.
